I love Cowls
With summer ending and fall beginning I figured I would get a headstart on making some really fashionable cowls for the season. I love wearing cowl neck sweaters in the winter, so I decided to incorporate this style into my fall collection. Cowls can be worn as scarves or as an accent piece. They are a fall must have. Here are a few that I have made so far. These are all for sale at my Bonanzle booth here.

Getting Ready For The Fall
Its been a while since my last entry. Just getting settled in my new home. Now that school will be starting again I might have a little extra free time. Not much considering I am homeschooling my three older daughters. Any who my 9 year old and I have been busy crocheting our fall collection. This month we have been focusing on texture. I have been adding ribs and cables beanie hats. I have really enjoyed adding this design to my hats. You can find this hat and many others in my shop.

Staying Motivated
With this nice weather it's hard to stay motivated and stay indoors and create. I have gotten some work done. Last week I finished up some Tote Purses. I think they will be great as shopping bags or even a weekend bag. I also took another crack at the Reversible Purse Pattern I found on BurdaStyle this time it came out much better.
I used a nice pin stripe fabric that I had saved up for maybe maybe making a suit with.
I am so proud of this one. I also made a larger square version of this one called the Charlie from Burdastyle.
I am working on my shop together for Fall. I plan to have a full inventory by October.

Summer Crochet
Although it's summer we can still enjoy wearing crochet accesories. I use 100% cotton yarn for Spring and Summer projects. Its light weight and really comfortable to wear during the warm Season. Recently I have made several of these bucket style sun hats. Their the perfect accessory for those bad hair days during Summer. I have listed one in my shop. The pattern is very easy to follow and only requires a little bit yarn.. Here is a look at some of my Summer Crochet.

Turkey Feathers
Last month I purchased some dyed turkey feathers on etsy. I have been seeing some of the different hair accessories garnished with different types of feathers, so I decided to give it a try. I decided to crochet a light weight summer beanie in baby blue. I was going for the flapper look.
I had so much fun making this. I'm starting a whole new collection of headbands for my daughters.

Reversible Handbag
Well I downloaded the pattern for this bag at Burdastyle.com. The author provided very easy instructions with pics. All was going well for me until.... the very end. The straps gave me such a hard time. I'm gonna use hem tape instead of sewing them. The rest of the bag turned out pretty cool tho. I'm gonna make about five more I really want to perfect this pattern. Here is my completed Reversible Handbag Taupe and Black The author of this pattern has provided the instructions along with the pdf pattern download on her blog http://verypurpleperson.com/category/bags-and-purses.

Sewing Projects
I have decided to spend more time on my sewing machine this month and improve my skills. I am just a novice sewer looking to get better. I have signed with a sewing site called Burdastyle.com. Its full of free patterns and you can download. I have been a member there for a while I'm finally getting my nerve up to try some of the projects there. My first one to try will be a reversible purse I found at Burdastyle.com. I invite you all to follow me on my journey of learning something new.

Mamma's Got A Brand New Bag
Today I was cleaning out my craft room and found some pretty cool fabric scraps. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with them but eventually I decided I needed a new summer purse. Something light weight and that would go good with jeans. So I decided to free style without a pattern and came up with this. The tan material I think is burlap and the floral pattern material is polyester.
The Last Two Months
The last two months I have been busy making things for the Spring/Summer seasons. I started off with crocheting some cotton hats with floral embellishments. I think they came out pretty good. After crocheting I decided to try to create some macrame jewelry. I think I will get better at the jewelry as time moves on but here are some pics of the finished projects. My favorite piece is the hemp necklace with the large black focal bead.
